ABOUT GUGULETU CAMPUS

Guguletu Campus (or Gugs Campus) is a popular campus of the College of Cape Town. The names of the other campuses are:

*   Athlone Campus
*   City Campus
*   Crawford Campus
*   Pinelands Campus
*   Thornton Campus
*   Wynberg Campus

Each campus offers different programmes (see the email address below to view the different programmes at the other campuses).

There are about 10 000 full-time students at the College of Cape Town. There are also many students enrolled for evening classes and learnerships at various other sites.

The College of Cape Town is known for its good quality programmes and results. There are also many linkages and partnerships with employers.

Gugs Campus (also known as Guguletu Campus) is located in Guguletu, about 25 km from Cape Town, South Africa. We have more than 1 200 students at our campus.

Gugs Campus is home to the following programmes:

*   Electrical Engineering N1-N3

You need a minimum of Grade 11 (but we give preference to

applicants with Grade 12 Maths) to enrol for Electrical Engineering.

*   NC(V) Management L2-L4
*   NC(V) Office Admin L2-L4

You need a minimum of Grade 9 (but we give preference to

applicants with a higher grade, e.g. grade 10)

to enrol for a NC(V) programme.

*   Business Management N4-N6
You need a grade 12 or NQF L4 to enrol for Business Management N4-N6

and Management Assistant N4-N6, since these are post matric qualifications.

The SSO provides counselling to students, facilitates MOT and Psychosocial classes, as well as to provide career guidance to our students.

The CDO provides career advice to students and also facilitates the PACE Assessment for our NCV students.  The CDO also assists the SSO.

It is always best to email if you are a past student, since it is very convenient and saves a lot of time. With an email we can forward your request to the right person.

If you are an existing student, put the info in writing and give it to your senior lecturer, who will pass it on to the right person.

Please do not simply rock up and expect to be assisted immediately.  Good advise is also not to phone.   Staff are sometimes not available for various reasons.

Exams Only (also known as Rewrites)

Please note:  When a student enrols to write only the final exam (without attending classes again), the student must ensure that:
 

·        He / She has a valid ICASS mark.  Please enquire with the Exams Officer or the Senior Lecturer if this is the case (when you register for the Exams Only Subject).
·        Even when a student has a valid ICASS mark, we still strongly advise him / her to write again the various Control Tests and Mini-exams (not Practicals). 
 Students will stay in touch with the work and be better prepared for final exams.

Once students complete their N3 Electrical at Gugs Campus,
they have the option of doing Level 1-3 practical at the Pinelands Campus.
